Heaven is the primal power of inspiration. As the clouds spread and the rain falls, all things flow into their shapes. It shows you the end that brings a new beginning, the way energy moves in the world and the proper time to accomplish something.   After the Storm (San Luis, Argentina March 09) If you become aware of its movement, you can ride this energy in its six different shapes, the six lines of the hexagram, as if they were six dragons. The Way of the Force is to change and transform things. Also the newsletters have been a little bit about sharing what I’m passionate about. So here it is what I’ve been doing in my winter cave: connecting with the Great Mother: the Moon. There are 13 moons in a year and the moon also has four stages. As we align ourselves with both cycles of Sun and Moon we are experiencing a beautiful dance here on Earth. The living Earth with all its chakras and ley lines, activating and spreading joy as we stand, walk and dance on them. ARIES New Moon 26th March 2009 Begins 16:07 GMT/UTC       Alchemical meditation for the World Fire Spinner Wheel: The Spinner Wheel of Everlasting Liberty turns thrice, Clockwise, then anti-clockwise, and back again. You are the centre of the Wheel... Let everything you do today contribute a greater Liberty and a greater Joy to all Life.            A Spring Cleansing Spiral Dance can begin with construction a small bagua out of stones big enough to stand in the center, but small enough to step one foot outside the boundary when spiraling around the bagua. The meditation Karin gives suggests beginning clockwise, then counter clockwise, ending clockwise. Clockwise could be for opening, releasing, and cleansing the core of that which needs to be released; then counter clockwise for gathering the energies from all directions to fill the core; and ending with clockwise to send out the overflow of energy into the universe…or any variation of this theme that seems right for you. And here are the latest news I want to share:   The 2008 “Eternal Laughter” scholarship was granted to Nathan Most.  Nathan will use the award to keep spreading Taoist teachings to senior communities.  Congratulations Nathan!  Your work is of great value!   We are working hard on the documentary “How it all Began” and need your help to see it to completion. If all of us on this mailing list would be willing to send a $5 a donation for this project, we will be able to have it ready for the 2010 Tao Congress (30 years since it all started). I asked her to write it down so I could e mail it to the people that are coming but felt the need to share it with those that can not make it as well.   Love and Light   Karin       These are magical and transformative times we are in.  As Taoists, we can harness the energies coming in from the cosmic events during the month of August in both preparing for our gathering and for manifesting when we gather together August 15, 16, 17 in Phoneica, NY.   These cosmic power days of August are about alignment, acceleration, and anchoring.  This is a time to remember that we are all are connected and that in darkness there is light and in light there is darkness; in the Divine Masculine (Sun; Yang) rests the Divine Feminine (Moon; Yin), and in the Divine Feminine (Moon; Yin) rests the Divine Masculine (Sun; Yang).     In the month of August, there will be a massive energy shift brought on by the convergence of cosmic energies. We have the opportunity to cosmically reconnect to our lunar, solar, and stellar ancestry, those aspects of our being that remember to look to the heavens to observe and then to incorporate the heavenly light and dark whole into our hearts in sacred ceremony.   During our time together in NY we will conduct a Sweat Lodge on Friday, August 15th to cleanse and open ourselves to the energies coming in on the 16th. During our Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse Ceremony on August 16th, we will open our hearts and these shifts will move through us in confluence, accelerating us into higher states of consciousness that reawaken strands of our DNA to hold the energies of a new archetype; one of Universal Peace.  In our ceremony, we will anchor this new archetype of Universal Peace into our hearts and into the core (heart) of the Earth.   Here is some information about the abundant energies available in August.   August is the 8th month of the year. August is associated with the astrological sign of Leo and the sun. It is a month of enlightenment, growth and in the northern hemispheres, the beginning of harvest. The month of August 2008 is ripe with powerful astrological events of great synchronicity:   August 2008 Astro Events (Gregorian Calendar)   New Moon (total solar/solar eclipse) in Leo – 8/01/08 (6:12 am EDT)    1st quarter moon – 8/9/08 Perseids Meteor Shower – 8/12/08 Full Moon (partial lunar eclipse) – 8/16/08 (5:16 pm EDT):  Mars squares Pluto 3rd quarter moon – 8/24/08 New Moon – 8/31/08   Events that follow an eclipse have more weight than events brought on by a normal new or full moon. On this day, the moon is “dark” and the sun “disappears” for 2 minutes, 27 seconds along the path of totality. This offers us a magnificent opportunity to open our inner portal to lighten/enlighten the darkness within.   This enlightened darkness opens the portals to the three 8:8:8 power days in August 2008.   The Power Days: 8-8-2008; 8-17-2008; 8-26-2008     8 – indicating eternal motion of spirals, rhythm, vibration, integration   A Power Day is a triple trinity of incorporating the symbol of number, in this case, 888, into the core of your being. You do this by visualizing and feeling the infinity symbol emanating from the singularity within your heart, and then expanding into the triple trinity, creating the seed of life, activating all aspects of your physical and subtle anatomy and then interconnecting with All Beings, All Times, All Space, All One. This brings in the full power of your cosmic consciousness; this occurs on three “dates”, 8-8, 8-17 (8), and 8-26 (8). Each successive date, you may deepen into the power within you, connect to the dark seed of creation, and create a new now from gratitude/joy.   ******************************************************   August 2008 Cosmic Events associated with the Mayan Calendar, the Tzolkin   The Tzolkin is the sacred calendar used by the Mayans.  The Tzolkin is based on the cycles of the Pleiades (26,000 yrs); it takes 26,000 years for the earth to move completely around the zodiac.  The Tzolkin is 260 days in length and the days are counted in two ways.  The numbers 1-13 constitute a thirteen-day count called a trecena; each day is assigned one of 20 different signs, or suns that are always counted in a specific order, resulting in a 20-day/sun cycle called a uinal.  The two counts run together so that each day is characterized by both a number and a sun sign; so 13 x 20 = 260.  More about the Mayan calendar can be found at http://mayaportal.lucita.net/               Tzolkin energies present in August                  20 Core days*:  begin 8/5/08-8/24/08           10 Portal days**:  begin 8/30/08-9/8/08       *CORE DAYS: 20 Core days for 2008:   8/5-Tuesday – 8/24-Sunday   Core days are 20 suns that live in the center, the 7th column, of the sacred calendar. This is where history and future meet.  This is the NOW of the Tzolkin, a place between what has been and what will be.  This cycle represents the spinal column for the entire calendar of 260 days.  This 7th column of 13 columns also represents our own spinal column and chakras.   If you divide the Tzolkin into 65 groups of 4 suns each, each group having one member from each direction, the 33rd group falls at the exact center of the 7th column.  We have 33 vertebrae in our spinal column and 7 chakras.  The 7 reminds us of our connection with the Pleiades, our 7 sisters.  The number 33, the center column, has a mystical frequency as it holds the vibration of mastery.   Core days are INTENSE, as these days teach us how to live in the present.  There is no time specifically for the past or the future.  Forward progress may be difficult, but improved when resistance is cleared following this cycle of 20 days.  We may rethink things; key is to stay in the present moment and merge the past and future.  Flow with this energy and you can accelerate your personal process.  Work with chakras during the core days.  These days in their totality are our umbilical cord to the energetic center of the Pleiades.  These days provide an opportunity to work on all levels of our mastery and to perceive more clearly our ascension process.   If your birthday lands on a core day, you may find yourself highly focused on whatever lies before you to accomplish.  You know what you are doing and need little input from outside sources.  The past and future merge all experience that you have collected to now.   **PORTAL DAYS: 10 Portal Days: 7/21/08 Monday - 7/30/08 Wednesday and 8/30 Saturday – 9/8 Monday.   There are 52 total portal days in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar.  These 10 consecutive portal days are centered around the 20 Core Days, happening before they begin and after they end. The base energy of a portal day is the integration of two cycles (Pleiadian cycle and reflection of Moon cycle) merging together to create a more accelerated and defined destiny.  Portal days are time-wave intersections that facilitate the receptivity of cosmic knowledge.  Working with portal days can accelerate your transformation and awakening by being open to receiving cosmic knowledge on these days.  The 52 days create a grid within the Tzolkin that uses the mathematics of 28, connecting portal days to the cycles of the moon.     ******************************************************   In preparation for our sacred ceremony, we ask that you spend at least 10 minutes a day sitting in a meditation of gratitude.  To do this, we suggest that you create and anchor the physical feeling of gratitude/joy in the physical heart; then, as the feeling amplifies and the heart awakens/softens/expands, circulate this heart energy throughout your Microcosmic Orbit; expand it and project it down into the core of the earth and up to the center of the Milky Way Galaxy simultaneously. A crystal fluorite octahedron is very useful in this meditation.      You can  visualize yourself sitting in the middle of this sacred geometric crystal and use the crystal to amplify and direct the energy of gratitude/joy to both the core of the Earth and to the center of the galaxy simultaneously. To end the meditation, shrink the octahedron and place it in your heart space until the next time you meditate.   Working with the virtue energy of gratitude/joy in the heart creates a shift in your perception. In shamanic terms, when you shift to a higher realm of perception, you are able to find solutions to your problems, resolve conflicts, heal disease, and experience oneness with all of creation. See the big picture, feel it in our body. How we are part of something larger that ourselves. So it felt natural to create a non profit organization for it.   One that would give scholarships for those in need of funds and that would help researchers bring to light the mysteries of universal laws. But then I realized that in any spiritual teaching there is something that is seldom spoken of, written down and that is the personal experience of sharing a space with someone who has a higher level of consciousness and just by being there with an open heart something happens.   This silent transmission is part of the body of oral teachings. And the need to share this experience with others in a casual atmosphere with love and respect for all sentient beings. That is why I'm committed to host once a year such gathering. This got me inspired to share some of it with you since we are approaching the longest night of the year where a year ends and a new cycle begins. We kindle this winter fire In memory of our ancestors And of those who guard the world. May the flame warm our hearts And may the light remind us Of the ever-returning sun.   Entering into the Longest Night, Entering into the Birth of Light. Make Peace on Earth; Make Peace Within. At the Sun's Rebirth; And 'round the Wheel Again.   This is the time of the Serpent Days or transformation...The Elder and Birch stand at the entrance to Annwn or Celtic underworld where all life was formed. Like several other myths they guard the entrance to the underworld. This is the time the Sun God journey's thru the underworld to learn the secrets of death and life. And bring out those souls to be reincarnated.       New Grange is arguably one of the finest monuments of European pre-history. Dating to circa 3200 B.C., it was built during the Neolithic or New Stone Age by a wealthy farming community that prospered on the rich lands of the Boyne Valley. Passage tombs, as the name implies, consist of a passage leading to a chamber where the remains of the dead (usually cremated) were placed. The passage and chamber of Newgrange are illuminated by the winter solstice sunrise. A shaft of sunlight shines through the roof box over the entrance and penetrates the passage to light up the chamber. The dramatic event lasts for 17 minutes at dawn from the 19th to the 23rd of December. Megalithic mounds such as Newgrange entered Irish mythology as sídhe or fairy mounds. Newgrange was said to be the home of Oenghus, the god of love.   The tri-spiral design on orthostat C10 which is probably the most famous Irish Megalithic symbol. Archaeologists classify New Grange as a passage tomb, but for its builders, New Grange was much more than simply a place of burial. It housed the spirits of their ancestors, providing a link for the living community to the world of their deities and serving as a focal point for ritual and celebration. New Grange's accuracy as a time-telling device is remarkable when one considers that it was built 500 years before the Great Pyramids and more than 1,000 years before Stonehenge. The intent of its builders was undoubtedly to mark the beginning of the new year. In addition, it may have served as a powerful symbol of the victory of life over death. A day of sadness and joy.   Usually we gather to put up a stone at the burial site. As Ron wanted his ashes scattered, so they could blow in the wind up in the mountain, I believe that starting a Foundation on this day is the stepping stone to keep his memory alive.   Ron didn’t want to fight the asbestos, he wanted to understand it. So instead of fighting lawsuits it’s by educating that we will win in the end. And this means, what will remain 1000 years from now? Can we see ahead, leave behind our human nature and stay together for it to come true? I saw it at the Memorial. He brought us back to what’s important. First of all I want to share Ron´s memorial service. Then I´ve put together the new calendar of workshops starting in January and last but not least Dr Chang´s formulas for the coming season.   Love and Light Karin Sorvik     Memorial Service   Just wanted to share with all of you the wonderful service we had for Ron. It felt so good to see the community get together, tears and laughter were exchanged as we greeted one another. With all of your heart felt e mails that I received during Ron’s final days and after his passing, Lydia Riedell and I compiled a booklet which was handed out to all who where able to attend. For those of you that couldn’t make it physically you can download it now from the website Ron’s Memorial Booklet   After everyone arrived we went up to the mountain top for our last farewell to Ron. The setting was perfect, the sunset magnificent and Ron´s presence was there. Pictures.   I put together a CD of an edited version of “Seeing through Death” by Barry Long which Ron had requested to be played. In addition, included on the CD is “Vehicle of Aliveness” by Ron and Ghanharva which was a result of a magical moment at the studio. They where doing the sound test with the drums and Ron started to express his thoughts about sound and space without a script. This rehearsal became the final take in what turned out to be an extraordinary teaching from Ron. I’ve made this available to you all via Ron’s Memorial CD. It wouldn’t be complete without Ron’s laughter and so now you can hear him laugh through eternity.     Workshops   You will find on the website the schedule of classes and workshops starting in January 2006. I´m taking some time to travel and teach in Brazil until the end of the year. I recommend to look into 4Dimensional Life Art Basic Course. It is a program to allow your life experience to reach its full and true potential and to be able to come to the core of life and your human existence, to live with truth and fulfillment.     Dr Chang´s Formulas for the coming season   As we travel from season to season the body needs to adjust.  We are entering the winter months and colds are on the way. A good formula is #101 Travel Tea. The winter months are related to the kidneys, the water element. Right now I find myself at the southern tip of the continent on top of the Glacier Perito Moreno in Argentina . It is one of the few that is still in equilibrium. At Dao Mountain on Friday night, we had a wonderful candlelit circle of 35 people in a deep send-off meditation for Ron, punctuated by funny stories, a guitar song, and touching moments of grief. If you knew Ron, I urge you to have your own private memorial, and open your heart to him while he is still near. Karin is leading another meditation to release all of Ron's attachments to the physical plane on Sunday at noon (EST). Tune in then, or later - its an ongoing process to help him shift effortlessly. I wish to share his partner Karin Sorvik's description of his rebirthing: "Ron is at peace, and I'm at peace too. I had a wonderful time with Ron until the very last minute with tons of love and kisses. I did finally let him go, to free him to find out what the next step of his journey is. That was the big question on his mind. I felt a powerful transmission come into my hand as he shifted into deep silence, and passed to the other side. ³Ron's wish in this life was to be a Taoist wanderer, traveling and teaching and enjoying life. He wanted to raise the consciousness of the planet. He wanted to be remembered with laughter, for all the good things that people were touched by, not to cry at how we are going to miss him. Because each moment that we think of him, he is always here with us." Easier said than done. Karin's simple and elegant words made me cry. I am overjoyed that Ron is flying free from the limitations of his body. I know that death is illusory, that Ron is in the process of joyfully rebirthing his unique essence within the formless planes. Like Karin, I support him to fly as freely in spirit as he did in earthly life. I am confident he will continue mediating human individual existence with the Supreme Mystery (wuji).
